We must note that Hindu religion is on two kinds: one, as a philosophical system and two, as a religion to live by or practise. As a philosophical system, it has a variety of sub-systems that weave the fabric of the System, as a whole. We call the fabric with one word: Hinduism or Hindu religion.
One such strand is Atheism. It is accepted as a sub-system within the System. Sakhiyam is its name. Its followers cannot be denied as being non-Hiindus. Not only Sakhiyam. One can deny all sub-systems and worship his Hindu God using his own rituals, like Chitthars of Tamilnadu did.

At the same time, in the second kind namely, practical religion, it is not allowed. Atheists may not be killed as in other religion like Islam for blasphemy. Still, in Hindu religion, to deny God is blasphemy still. Puranic stories do give them indirect punishment. One cannot wish to be with Perumal or Shiva in Vaikuntam or Kailasm, as the case may, but hate Perumal or Shiva 
In common life, people will curse such persons who deny God. In your point, you mix both systems.

No compulsion indeed. But then what are temples for? Kripananada Variyar gave the reply that in a cow, we suckle milk only from its udder; not from other parts of its body. Likewise, only in temple, we get the spiritual nearness to God. This is accepted by all Hindu spiritual leaders. No one has said we can neglect the temple. They say temples have special magnetic powers too. They are not built like we build our houses. Rather, they are built under certain ancient rules called agama shastras; after that, consecration ceremony (kumbabishekam) is required to be conducted with vedic chants. After reading or knowing all these, a Hindu will feel better or necessary to go and pray at temple. No compulsion as said by you. But a necessity is created and felt: haven’t you noted that?

    (to be cont'd)

    2. Same reply as given to point no.2. Pilgrimage is not compulsory. But it is necessary for a good Hindu. To go on a pilgrimage to Kasi or Rameshwaram or Pazhani is not a one-day decision. People feel it for long and save money and go. The feeling, the saving, the desire and the final pilgrimage – constitute the glory of the relgion you are attempting to belittle and say delight in the freedom to neglect it. The devotees who walk more than 60 miles barefoot to Pazhani to attend Thairpoosam – are they fools and wasting their precious time?

For you I relate a story of a Chettiar here. Kesavan Chettiar from a small village in Tanjavur district was going to Tirupathi evey year from his young age onwards. He became too old to go. He was agonised and prayed to his Lord about his inability. The Lord came on his dream and told him not to worry and construct a small temple in his village itself and worship him. Chettiar did so and after many years worshipping there, he died in peace. The temple today is in the village Harikkudi and the temple there became a famous pilgrim centre for Tamil vaishanvas. You have forgotten the story of Shravanan. It is in the Ramayanam His parents were very old. Their only desire before death is to go to Kashi and worship Kasinath. But they were too old to travel; and worse, they were blind. Everyday, they were saying they were going to die without fulfilling their pilgrimage to Kasi. Shravan, their only child, now a young man, seated them on two baskets tied at each end of a pole and carried them on his soldier to Kasi. He was killed by Rama’s father; and the curse of his parents became true – read it in the Ramayanam.

So, no compulsion on Shravan’s parents but they didn’t feel proud of such freedom like you. Rather, they wept about their inability. You cannot be a good Hindu if you belittle the important aspect of the religion to go on pilgrimages. In ancient India, people went on pilgrimages and the Kings and others built chathirams and planted trees on highways for them. Did those Hindu feel proud that there was no compulsion to go on pilgrimages?

No compulsion indeed. You can be a rogue and a loafer or a philander- that make you feel proud, doesn’t ?. But you should attempt to live as your religion says you should. What for is your religion to you? Just read and forget?
Wrong again. The symbols have significant meanings you want to pooh-pooh on the grounds of your absolute freedom. In Vaishanavism, the namam has great significance and intricate meanings and all devotees are asked to wear it. Jeyalalitha does it (though not exactly!), haven’t you noticed it? Has any one compelled her? No. No compulsion indeed. But to neglect it makes you a rough Hindu.

But sects have leaders. Madhvacharyas for Madhav Brahmins. Vallaba for Telugu vaishanvas, Chaitanya for Vaishanvas who take only Krishna avatar, Ramanujacharya for Vaishanvas, Desikan also. These leaders gave theological systems to their followers which are strictly followed today. In Savisim, it may not be so. But you cannot talk on behalf of all sects please.
Harsh words. Avoid please. If a god man commits a crime, he is no longer a god man but just a common man, and he will be dealt with under law for his criminal act as Asharam babu is facing today. When he is not a god man, he is not in our reckoning at all. For our part, we must honor and revere Hindu monks because they renounce this world in order to seek spiritual enlightenment and integration with their God.

Sorry. Only one sect believes in this i.e. Sankara’s Vedanta. Since they are large in number, they pass it off as if it is the one and only religious thought. Vaisnavism doesn’t accept it. Saiva Sithantha doesn’t also. Man cannot be God.

Thirumarais and the two Ithikasas only are religious books. Others are secular. Why do you mix them here?

    I have already explained it.

Hindus don’t accept it. You may be a Brahmin and you want to remain a vegan. Be so. Don’t make it a virtue for the religion. If you insist vegan-ism and say you feel proud of it, it means non-vegans cannot be Hindus and they have to feel ashamed of being non vegans. Can the religion, then, survive only with persons like you?

From point 1 to 12, you spoke of freedom; and here you impose your fetish on others. If you are correct, then other Hindus will say we are not feel proud to be Hindus because we are forced to be vegans :-)
